The editorial introduces the fourth issue of the comparative yearbook POEMA. This issue is dedicated to the relationship between lyric poetry and sound, which has long been a central topic in lyric theory. It focuses on recent research approaches at the intersection of lyric studies and sound studies, addressing sound, performance, songs, as well as musico-literary and electroacoustic poetry. These developments have become possible in particular through advances in media technology, which for the first time make lyric poetry comprehensively accessible as a sound artefact.
