Resumo
Introduction: burns are injuries that can cause enormous morbidity and mortality in the health of patients, with high financial and social costs. Objectives: to prepare a literature review to highlight the epidemiology of burns in Brazil based on existing publications. Methodology: this is a scoping review protocol with an aligned survey of burn incidence and prevalence of burn sequelae as study outcomes, to be carried out in twelve databases, following the criteria proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and the document PRISMA Scr. The Rayyan© platform, in its free version, will be used for the selection of studies, data extraction and analysis. Each article will be analyzed by two researchers who are blind to each other and, in case of disagreement, a third senior researcher will decide whether or not to include the work. Conclusion: it is expected to provide an overview of the Brazilian literature on the epidemiology of burns, as well as to identify knowledge gaps in this area.
